CTU Racking, short for Carton/Container Transfer Unit racking, is a high-density automated storage system engineered to work with CTU (tote-handling) robots. Also known as tote or bin robot racking, it pairs precisely manufactured steel racking with robotic carriers that automatically store and retrieve totes, cartons and bins — enabling true "goods-to-person" picking. Built up to 6–10 meters high with narrow, robot-only aisles, CTU racking maximizes vertical space and can deliver more than 3× the storage density of traditional bin shelving in the same footprint. It removes manual walking and searching, reduces picking errors, and supports 24/7 operation with full WMS/WCS traceability. It is widely used in e-commerce split-case picking, electronics and spare-parts warehouses, line-side feeding, pharmaceutical and cold-chain broken-case storage, and express sorting hubs.
