A warehouse racking system is a customized metal storage framework built inside warehouses to orderly stack goods, pallets and cartons, maximizing vertical space utilization.
It works by dividing the warehouse into multi-level storage bays. Forklifts or manual staff place goods onto designated rack levels. Separated access aisles enable organized loading, picking and inventory checking, standardizing warehouse material management and avoiding chaotic stacking.
FIFO stands for First In, First Out. It is a stock management rule that requires earlier incoming goods to be shipped out prior to newly arrived stock.
Special rack types like carton flow rack, gravity rack and drive-through pallet rack support FIFO by physical structure. It prevents product expiration, aging or quality loss, widely used for food, cosmetics, electronics and fast-moving consumer goods.
